4 Rivers Smokehouse - Authentic BBQ Experience in Jacksonville, FL

Ok this place is amazing, the food was great I got the pulled pork sammich and when they have to squeeze the grease out to put it on the bun you know it’s gonna slide right down, and out, I got Mac and cheese and fries for sides but screw that stick with the main course it’s amazing, added in a can of soda and it cost $16 bucks, super reasonably priced I didn’t finish the Mac and cheese or fries cuz the sandwich stuffed me, I’m full beyond capacity, time for a nap. A Jacksonville must visit I almost forgot the atmosphere is amazing, I felt like I was in the south, wait I am, but you get the idea, outdoor seating is where it’s at

4 Rivers continues to deliver solid, comforting BBQ done right. The ribs were the standout for me—tender, smoky, and cooked just right with a great balance of bark and moisture. They pulled cleanly from the bone without falling apart, which is exactly how good ribs should be. The baked beans were another highlight. They’re rich, slightly sweet, and loaded with flavor, making them more than just a side dish—they easily hold their own and pair perfectly with the ribs. I also tried the Lenna Offering sampler, which is a fantastic option if you want variety or are visiting for the first time. It’s generous, well-balanced, and lets you sample multiple proteins and sides without feeling rushed or shorted. Great value for the portion size. On top of the food, the staff was friendly and helpful, taking the time to explain the menu and make recommendations without being pushy. That kind of service really elevates the experience. Overall, 4 Rivers is a reliable go-to for quality BBQ, whether you’re craving ribs, comfort-style sides, or just want an easy sampler that hits all the right notes. I’ll definitely be back.

Solid bbq joint. The smells inside and out are heavenly. I was excited to see they had a sandwich with burnt ends on it, but super sad to see they aren’t actually “burnt ends”. Not even slightly charred ends… cooked ends is about it… I digress… still a good sandwich… but in my opinion , burnt ends need to be burnt. It’s in the name even. I’m glad I got the wings because they were the star of the show for me. Cooked perfectly and the signature sauce with the blue cheese is out of this world. My buddy had the ribs with brisket and two sides. The ribs were fantastic and the brisket was good. Beans were so good and Mac and cheese was grainy so he didn’t eat it. Great service and atmosphere. Menu has a lot of awesome options.

Hickory wood is my favorite wood for smoked BBQ and I appreciate that this venue exceeds my standards! The food really does make me taste the Love and craftsmanship. This is one of the reasons why this venue checks off all the Foodie boxes that are important to me. The patrons are happy and the staff is personable, professional, and friendly. This venue in Baymeadows is very clean, bright, and welcoming. Bravo to these local community heroes!

I enjoy and prefer their beautiful Texas Destroyer sandwich which is topped with onion rings and provolone. I wish to look into trying it with jalapeños if there are not too many seeds. Also, their burnt ends are housemade, surprisingly amazing, and full of flavor. I enjoy and request their wet, sweet southern coleslaw. Also, I ask for their flavorful and cooked with bacon southern green beans. I do not enjoy the cliental. I wish to take food for takeout.

This spot has a great outdoor seating area, though I chose to sit inside this time since it was quite busy and I was looking for a quieter vibe. Plenty of parking! The food was impressive across the board. I really appreciated that the meat has a deep BBQ flavor without being lathered in sauce, giving you the freedom to add as much or as little as you like. The Meats: The Brisket was delicious, and the Prime Rib was incredible—it pulled right off the bone. The Sides: The Potato Casserole and Brussels Sprouts were both excellent. I also tried the Deviled Eggs; they were good, though a bit on the sweet side for my taste (keeping in mind I don't eat them often!). To drink, I had the Cold Brew Liquor Coffee. It was great and very tasty, though I didn't actually realize it was alcoholic when I first ordered it! Definitely a pleasant surprise, but something to keep in mind for others.
